I have been dreading this months message. I have a problem with Christmas.
I was going to do some bible thumping and condemn everyone for taking part in this satanic ritual...blah, blah,blah...
But I got a better idea?!
I am simply gonna say happy hollidays and let me tell you why I have
a problem with clausemas.
We have been told by almost every body that christmas is Christ's
birthday. But, when we study the book about Christ, we find out ,"not even close"
We are told that Christmas is also about a jolly old fat burglar who
breaks in our homes one night of the year and steals milk and cookies, leaves a bunch of junk under some dead tree in
the living room, and gets out so he can do it to every home on the planet in one evening.
In all sincerety, christmas is based on lies. We lie to children
about why they Get these presents on somebody elses birthday.
If we lie to our children about there being a satan... ooops...
santa, why should they believe us about there being a Christ Jesus. Just think about that.
I was teaching the elders in my weekly Quorum meeting one
Sunday morning when I decided I'd heard too many people mentioning satan clause ...ooops.. santa... in the weekly sacrement
meeting I decided to explain the differences between Christ and santa. From everything I had learned about Christ, he
was about "give, give, give",. But from I know about santa he is about "recieve, recieve, recieve. Well, it was like a gang
of rabbid dogs. How dare I say such a thing. Needless to say, I left, and havn't been back. Not that I'm bitter or anything.
I just think it can be dangerous to try to mix the Christ Jesus
and satan...ooops... santa. Jesus ain't leaving stuff under the fire hazard in the living room. And toys are a pretty big
influence over a child. And who's giving these children toys????? The afore mentioned burglar that steals cookies!!
That is when my wife and I decided to be truthful about
clausemas. We trimmed the tree, we put up the lights, we bought the presents, and we told them we didn't know why we did it!
I want to wish every single person on this earth, Peace on Earth,
Goodwill Toward men.
peace be upon your homes
